Advice to people in foreclosure…

from a lady who was in foreclosure.

 

An interview with Sydni Anderson, current NHF Client.                 

 

 

NHF: Sydni, could you tell us just a little about how you got into foreclosure?

 

Sydni: First let me just say thank you, thank you, thank you so much for helping me.  I don’t know where else I could have turned.  I had tried everything else and was about to lose my home that I have lived in the past 18 years…thank you for helping me save it.

 

Nobody likes to talk about this, but when I got into foreclosure I wasn’t bad about overspending…I have a grown son that had some problems, and in the course of trying to help him out I just went deeper into debt than I could afford.  That’s how I got into trouble.

 

NHF: Was your mortgage company helpful in trying to get your situation resolved in your favor?

Sydni: They tried to give me a payment plan…but I was in such a hole that wasn’t going to work for me.  I still had my other bills that I was behind on, and it would have just been a matter of time before I was right back where I started.

 

NHF: Once you realized that you were going to actually lose your home, how did you feel?

Sydni: I was desperate…I never had been in this kind of situation before.  I got on the internet…I applied to some companies on there.  I got in touch with Josh in San Diego, a Loan Officer with another mortgage company.  He couldn’t help me, but he knew about your company.

 

NHF: Sydni, what happened when you first contacted National Home Owners Financial Association?

Sydni: It was great.   Dave (NHF Advisor) took down all the information.  He said he could help me out.  From that time on I trusted him.  He’s a very nice man, and very on the ball.  He tried to get things going as quickly as possible.  The holdup was my mortgage company sending over the payoff amount…but to make a long story short…it worked.

 

NHF: How did you feel as you worked through the process?

Sydni: Dave and I were in touch a lot during this whole process.  When he was still waiting for information he would call and tell me what was going on, so I didn’t feel like I was out of the loop, so to speak.   It was very reassuring to know that you actually cared about saving my home and taking the time to explain things to me.

 

Very rarely did I even have to leave a message for Dave…I had his cell number, home phone number, his office 800 number…he always got back to me.  I have nothing negative to say about him.

 

And  I didn’t even feel terribly stressed going through the process.  It was kind of scary to me at first when he explained what was going to happen, but everything was in writing and it was my only way to save my house.

 

I felt he was trustworthy.

 

NHF: And was NHF able to actually save your home from foreclosure?

Sydni:  Yes, just like you promised.

 

NHF: How do you feel now that you’ve been through the entire process with NHF?

Sydni:   I feel like the weight of the world has been lifted off my shoulders.  The creditor phone calls stopped almost immediately, and I can finally sleep at nights.  

 

NHF: Sydni, if you could give advice to someone now in foreclosure and thinking about what they should do, what would you tell them?
